Struggling with anxiety, fear, or panic? This is part 2 of a blog series that is here to help. Whether you're dealing with these emotions yourself, or as a parent with a fearful child, I understand the challenges firsthand. Read on as I share quick tips to navigate moments of panic and I've got a valuable gift for you at the end.
According to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, anxiety effects over 40 million Americans (19%) and 7% of children will experience anxiety symptoms by age 21.
I have 3 kids. One of them suffers from anxiety…or sheer panic as it were.
This blog series is meant to help parents who are also in my shoes dealing with a loved one suffering with anxiety, but don't want to medicate. I share stories and natural things we’ve found to work. None of this is meant to treat or diagnose. I am not a doctor….just a mom hoping to help my fellow moms on the frontlines of life.
Anyway, how about that anxiety? It’s a tricky beast isn’t it? One without logic and reason that’s for sure! As I was doing some research to learn how to help my own daughter cope, I stumbled across this blog article I found helpful from Childmind.org. You might find it helpful too, even if it’s just to reassure you that you are doing things right like it did for me. We parents need more reassurances of doing things right don’t we?
I like the “grab the bull by the horns and let’s get through this” approach and that’s what I’m giving you in this series. The real-deal things that have turned all-out panic attacks into empowering feelings of safety and love in my 7 year old. You can read HERE about one of the ways we get through them. But first, keep reading to learn about this tool she’ll ask for specifically because it helps so well.
It’s a sound wave frequency device, the watch as I call it, and I am amazed at what it all does. You can read more about it's 1000 different frequencies HERE. But for now, let me tell you how well it worked for my daughter.
It was another bedtime anxiety episode where she was scared of me leaving her room. The lamp was on. We said our prayers. She had all her stuffies and blankie, everything she feels she needs at night. Yet, here come the tears and panic. I remembered my watch had a sound frequency for anxiety, so I decided to try it. I put it on her, adjusted the volume to her liking, and sure enough, within minutes, the tears started to slow and she calmed down and went to sleep.
“Interesting,” I thought. “Let’s see if it works tomorrow.”
So the next evening I could see her building up with anxiety as bedtime got near, and she actually asked me for the watch before I offered it to her. She said it worked really well last night. I put the watch on the anxiety setting again and what to do ya know? No bedtime panic attack.
My daughter doesn’t suffer from these episodes every night, so she doesn’t wear the watch every night, although she totally could. There have been several other occasions where her anxiety got the best of her and the watch offered immediate comfort and control. It is now my first go-to when prayer and affirmation aren’t enough.
But don’t take my word for it. Check out other testimonials HERE.
And, as promised, a gift for you. I have a coupon code to save you $100 on this awesome device.
